Apply for KSA membership
How to apply to become a member of the Kitchen Specialists Association (KSA)
Should you be interested in applying for membership of the KSA please download the KSA membership application form. There are various forms depending on which membership category you wish to apply for. If you are unsure please consult with the KSA offices to ensure you are submitting the correct form. The form should be completed in full ensuring all references and bank details are given and all requested accompanying documentation is also submitted.
The completed application form should be faxed or emailed to your regional KSA office along with the necessary accompanying documentation. All applicants must submit their letterhead and their company CK documents. Applicants for kitchen company membership must also submit a list of ten jobs completed within the past year with full contact details of the client. We also require proof of registration with the Furniture or Building industry bargaining council (if your province has an active council) as well as proof or registration with Workman’s compensation or proof that you have attempted to register for Workman’s compensation. Please also supply a tax clearance certificate, a copy of your T&C’s, contract, and your warranty/guarantee.
If you are an international applicant, we will require the following: Company registration papers, Company letterhead, Tax Clearance certificate, Copy of your T&C’s / contract, Details of your guarantee / warranty, interior and exterior photos and video of your showroom, List of 10 recently completed installations with client names and contact details.
Once the KSA has received your application form they will contact you to arrange a visit to your premises. In the case of an international applicant, the KSA has the right to send a representative, in the form of a KSA supplier member that may operate in that region, to inspect the premises.
Should you meet the membership requirements and once your references have been checked the KSA will send out an email to the national membership informing them of your application. Should the KSA receive an objection to your application this will be investigated.
Membership requirements:
- You must have a showroom (applies to kitchen manufacturers only – both local and international)
- You must have been in business for a minimum of three years
- Your business must be registered in terms of South African law (of the law of your company registration if an international applicant). As a local company this would include being registered with the Furniture or Building bargaining council if one is up and running in your region, being in good standing with Workman’s compensation or be able to prove you are in the process of registering with them.
- You must be in good standing within the industry
- As a kitchen company you must take full responsibility for the design, manufacture, and installation of the goods even if parts of this process are outsourced or subcontracted.
If your application if successful it will be ratified at the next regional committee meeting. Once ratified you will be notified in writing of your acceptance and, once your entry fee and subscriptions have been paid, a KSA representative will arrange to deliver your KSA membership pack to you and add your membership to the KSA website and formally welcome you on our social media platforms.
