Decorex Joburg wraps up 20 years of exhibition excellence

Decorex Joburg took place from 7 – 11 August at Gallagher Convention Centre and celebrated its 20th anniversary in true style. With 54 891 people attending the popular décor, design and lifestyle event, many agreed that this year had been the best Decorex Joburg ever.

Decorex Joburg has continued to grow in size and authority despite increasing competition in their exhibition market. With our legacy of hosting some of the top home décor and design brands to exhibit at Decorex Joburg, this exhibition remains the most prestigious lifestyle event on Gauteng’s calendar – even attracting international visitors.
The first Decorex SA exhibition, launched 1994, attracted 26 000 visitors and played host to 144 exhibitors in just one hall. 20 years later we have over 54 000 visitors and 700 exhibitors stretched across 6 halls. Decorex SA has been a successful brand because it has not only grown with its market but gained status as the market leader within the exhibition industry. As the demands, needs and interests of consumers have changed, so too has Decorex SA.

Over the past 20 years we have developed various pavilions catering to the needs of both our exhibitors and our market. Decorex Joburg pavilions now include Kitchens and Bathrooms, District Delicious - the gourmet food and wine pavilion, a Greening pavilion featuring environmentally friendly products, Dream Rooms featuring top decorators ,designers and fabric houses, Décor Accessories and Furniture, the Craft Collective pavilion featuring the best of South Africa’s handmade design, a Global Trade Pavilion as well as an Art Gallery.

We are aware of the increasing importance that Decorex SA plays in the lives and businesses of our trade visitors. We have seen a steady growth in our South African and African trade visitor base. Decorex SA aims to add immense value to the South African décor and design community, by showcasing the latest international and local trends, hosting industry talks and conferences, and offering business networking opportunities.
We look forward to expanding and growing more sectors of the show.

The KSA Awards for the Finest Kitchen Exhibitors went to Easylife Kitchens, Franke Kitchen Systems and for the first time, because of their fantastic support of Decorex JHB 2013, the KSA acknowledged a non-KSA member, Careline Kitchens.

The KSA was also acknowledged with a longstanding exhibitor award of 15 Year +. The KSA social was well supported. Thanks must go to the following sponsors:

The KSA stand had a refreshed feel, thank you to the following members for their help with the new look stand: Franke, Niemann SA and Roco Fittings, Show Cupboards and Rehau . The winner of the REHAU Vetroline Glass Roller Shutter Door Competition was: Zaynab Saleem
