MUST SEE DÉCOR AND DESIGN UPDATE AT DECOREX JOBURG
Decorex Joburg celebrates 21 years as Africa’s largest décor, design and lifestyle exhibition this year with some exciting new features that will ensure visitors stay up to date on the very latest décor and design trends and happenings both in South Africa and around the world.
The exhibition takes place over the Women’s Day weekend (between 6th and 10th August) at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
One of the biggest draw cards to this year’s show is certain to be the arrival of 100% Design South Africa, sponsored by Dauphin HumanDesign Group, and one of the world’s most important design shows, now in South Africa and taking place alongside Decorex Joburg at the Gallagher Convention Centre.
Kicking off Decorex Joburg is the Design and Trend Forecast conference featuring leading trend analyst Dion Chang on the 7th August. Sponsored by Caesarstone, the event will also feature a report back from EuroCucina on the latest kitchen trends.
Plascon will once more use the popular platform of Decorex Joburg to launch their 2015 colour palette – visitors’ first glimpse of the most popular paint colours for next year and their professionals will be demonstrating exactly how to use these colours in your home or project.
Sian Steyn, General Manager of the Decorex SA Portfolio, says Decorex Joburg has, over the past 21 years, become one of the most important events on the South African décor calendar, offering visitors the most comprehensive exposure to the very latest in décor, design and lifestyle trends.
“We live in an era where time is the most precious of commodities and we like to think Decorex Joburg offers visitors a convenient and enjoyable opportunity to see products and make contacts – all under one roof,” she said. “Now that we’ve added 100% Design South Africa and our annual trend updates to the mix, Decorex Joburg is simply unmissable!”
Decorex Joburg will again be inviting some of South Africa’s leading designers to create inspiring installations and spaces within the show. This year leading Cape Town interior designer Sam Lurie will travel north to collaborate with fabric house St Leger & Viney in the prestigious Decorex Designer Spotlight, showcasing Sam’s new fabric collection as well as her unique, layered interior style.
With flooring products offering homeowners an increasing number of options, Dexcorex SA has invited a group of designers to create a space that showcases their style using the very latest Belgotex flooring products and execute this within the Belgotex Trend House. The spaces include a kitchen, dining room, lounge, patio, bathroom, bedroom and a child’s room. Look out for work by DDL Design and Décor Lab, Antiques and Heritage, Paper Space, Anitas Interiors, Interior Motives and Living Divani Interiors.
Look out for South Africa’s barista champion Craig Charity, who will be showcasing ideas for perfect home coffee brewing. MasterChef South Africa contestant Joani Mitchell will also be showcasing her talent in the kitchen, so don’t miss the opportunity to see some of the country’s leading foodies in action, at the DionWired Design Your Life theatre. The KWV Gourmet Market will feature delicious market-style fare, paired with wine and easy drinking pre-mixed cocktails from KWV.
Café Chic by My Furniture will be the perfect spot to enjoy a light meal like quiche and salad while the Graham Beck Wine Bar, by Concreate and Forest Collection, will be the adults-only chill out area where you can enjoy the Sushi Bar while sipping on a glass of bubbly or two.
With more than 750 exhibits offering visitors a comprehensive selection of ideas and inspiration all under one roof for five days, Decorex Joburg is set to be one of August’s diary highlights.
